Pacific Green Technologies

Pacific Green Technologies, founded in Vancouver, Canada, has a long-standing presence in the renewable energy sector, developing a diverse portfolio of innovative solutions. In 2024, the company initiated the acquisition of SIQENS, a German leader in high-temperature PEM methanol fuel cell technology that utilises a broad range of methanol types. As one of the most widely produced chemicals, methanol can be derived from multiple feedstocks, and when sourced from biogas or renewable electricity, it achieves net-zero emissions at combustion. These advanced fuel cells provide reliable backup and off-grid power, making them ideal for remote and challenging environments. By implementing diesel site elimination, this technology significantly reduces Scope 1 and 2 emissions. Thanks to its superior fuel efficiency compared to a diesel generator, it extends refuelling intervals by two to three times, reducing the frequency of on-site visits by personnel. With its plug and play solution, when integrated with renewable energy sources such as wind or solar, it automatically enhances the efficiency and reliability of these power types. Pacific Green Technologies remains committed to accelerating energy decarbonisation across multiple industries. In particular, telecom MNOs and tower owners can leverage these solutions to achieve their ambitious Scope emissions reduction targets for 2030 and 2040.
